Often what you tell us better meets the needs of your children than anything the Court is able to do.
A parenting plan is a written agreement between the parents that deals with parenting matters, for example where a child lives and when they see their parents.
Parenting plans are less expensive and easier to change than parenting orders, but cannot be enforced by a court if one parent breaches the agreement.
You may also make an agreement via formal court orders referred to as ‘consent orders’.
The advantage of Parenting Orders is that they are easier to enforce than a Parenting Plan, but are less flexible because they are more difficult to change than Parenting Plans.
We can assist you to choose the right agreement by providing you with advice about how the law works.
